New Technique using paper scraps!!!

Unless you're involved in needlepoint, you may not have heard of bargello, but chances are you've seen it! Bargello is a form of embroidery that is created through a series of upright flat stitches laid out in interesting patters. Bargello was trditionally stitches in wool on canvas, making it very durable and perfect for pillows, upholstery, and even carpet. But you can use bargello to create unique cards and paper projects that will deinitely leave your customers wowed!

Bargello is perfet for showing off Stampin' Up!'s fun Designer Series paper and a great way to use those strips of leftover paper that you don't want to throw away but don't know what to do with.

To create the beautiful patterns found on our Thanks So Much card and our Kind Thanks card, start out with our brand-new Nursery Suite Designer Series paper.

(The new Nursery Suite Designer series paper that's been used on these cardswill be available in the 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalog) (Tip: the bargello technique works best with striped papers).

1. Cut Designer Series paper into strips of varying width.

2. Align colors into desired pattern. Adherer to Whisper White card stock.

3. Using tabletop paper cutter, cut card stock into desired size.

4. Adhere bargello piece to card (or other project).

5. Step back and admire your work!

Croppin Weekend Retreat

Hey Stamper's!
Just thought I'd share some of my recent scrapbooking pages I made while at a weekend cropping event.
Below are some 6x6 pages that I made for these acrylic hanging frames for my girls.
The friends page was made using Stampin' Up!'s felt flower accents and the Sell-a-bration scallop punch.
The summer time page was made with punches and my cricut.
The blue and white pages were done with my Big Shot from Stampin' Up!

The 2 page 12x12 spread below is my youngest daughter at Binder Park Zoo. She did the face painting. Notice the tiger cut out...that I did with my Cricut. Then layered it up with white and green. Turned out pretty cool I think.

It was a great time! I plan on going again in September so I'd better get planning on what I want to work on. I'm sure its going to take me from now until then to get things all planned out!
Happy Stampin' & Scrapbookin'

Hi Stampers:

It has been brought to my attention with an announcement from SU! that the retiring colored cardstock is going quickly and will soon in not already be substituted with the textured cardstock in the upcoming days/weeks at no extra cost.

I'm not exactly sure when this replacement will take place.

Inkpads and reinkers are still available through May but may go into backorder status.

Beginning June 1st all retiring colors will be available while supplies last.

Go to my blog Kim's Creative Stamping to find links to the retiring colors and the new colors that are coming.
